First Time Installation and Configuration Before installing the software
There is a considerable amount of flexibility to the TraCS System to allow it to be tailored to meet the needs of individual agencies. For this reason, it is important to carefully consider the options available in TraCS usage prior to installing and configuring TraCS in an agency. The key elements of configuration are listed below:
| 1. | | The process of reviewing crash reports and citations at the agency.
| | 2. | | The type of networking capability available to the agency (Aircards, wireless, LAN only).
| | 3. | | The preferred method of returning forms that need modification and resubmission.
| | 4. | | The printing of reports (in vehicle, in station).
| | 5. | | The method of software configuration and deployment.
| | 6. | | Type of database engine to be used (Access or MSSQL).
| | 7. | | The method of distributing DHSMV form numbers.
| | 8. | | The types of forms that the officers will be creating with TraCS.
| | 9. | | The type of equipment available to the officers in the field.
