09:54, 10 September 2008 (EDT) Enhancements
Contents |
Central Repository Database
One of the enhancements that have been added to the system is the ability to send forms between users and from users to central repository database at the station via network connections without use of the Start/End Shift procedures. This allows front desk personnel and records personnel to retrieve and print forms as needed.
TraCS Analytics
With TraCS Analytics, agency administrators can present traffic data as plots on maps, produce charts, and tabular data from the TraCS central repository.

Electronic Submission
TraCS Florida is currently working the the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) to facilitate electronic submission of crash reports and update/continuations from TraCS databases. This will make mailing traffic reports to the State obsolete.
TraCS Florida will also provide the same components needed for electronic submission of crash reports to DHSMV to agencies using other records systems or vendors. Our expectations are to have these components completed in November.
TraCS Forms v1.54
The development team is also working on the next release of TraCS Florida Forms v1.54 which will include the new TraCS Florida MapIt replacement for the CTRE Location Tool, new map data, 4" citation printouts to support certain Zebra printers, and various bug fixes. This release should be available on this Web site at the end of September.

Feedback
In order to satisfy the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) with statistics regarding the state's traffic history, we will be contacting all agencies. Updated information we will need regarding your agency's usage includes the number of officers that are:
- sworn into your agency
- traffic officers
- officers using TraCS
- officers using the crash, citation, and DUI Citation forms
and that are using the:
- Locator Tool
- AutoNumbering Suite
- NCIC Tool
- Analysis Tool
We will also need to know what operating system your agency is currently using. Help us make your data work for you by providing us with the necessary information for continued development.
Attention Windows 2000 Users
If you are currently using the free TraCS Florida Diagram Tool, and you have previously upgraded to TraCS v1.53, you have probably noticed that the newer version of the Diagram Tool does not work with Windows 2000. We have resolved this issue, so please Contact Us so that we may help you to fix the problem.
DUI Citation Update
The DUI Citation has changed. Changes are not effective until October 1st. These changes should be available at the end of September in TraCS Forms v1.54.
15:26, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
Here is a preview of TraCS Florida MapIt, the replacement for the Locator Tool. It will feature a street/address/intersection finder that will allow officers to simply type in a location to find their location, easier installation, fewer clicks to locate an incident, and importing of both local and state road names.

- This Wiki is being cleaned up, and may eventually replace the main TraCS Florida website completely.
- The Forums are online.
- We are nearing the completion of the TraCS Florida Forms v1.53 Installer.
- Version 1.50 included numerous bug fixes and improvements. Since v1.50, the only fixes so far have been to address issues with the installer, and also make installing TraCS Florida easier. Therefore, those running v1.50 or greater should not make upgrading a priority unless they are experiencing side effects from problems with a previous install.
- The next v1.53 release will include in a single install the .NET Framework, TraCS Baseline, TraCS Florida Forms, Diagram Tool, AutoNumbering Suite, External Search, Forms Messenger, and Analytics. This will make installation and upgrades much easier.
- Since v1.53 of the installer includes major changes, we have been thoroughly testing it, and afterwards will initially only be providing it to a limited number of local agencies so that we can effectively evaluate and resolve any issues on-site.
- We have also stepped up the amount of testing we do on Vista, and have fixed some Vista related installation issues.
- Included in v1.53 will be the capability for administrators to customize their install so that the installer automatically performs many of the configuration changes that were previously performed manually on each and every machine! See Automated Configuration.
- Here are some highlights of improvements made in v1.50 and greater:
- Numerous bug fixes in forms. Drop down menus for Vehicle Make and Model(filtered by Make selection).
- Florida Utilities was completely rewritten to now utilize the .NET Framework. Improvements include:
- The one blank row that used to be needed is now hidden and created automatically.
- The row numbers are also now hidden and no longer need to be manipulated by users.
- Each field has documentation displayed at the bottom of the window.
- Import and Export is no longer limited to Start/End Shift locations, so that administrators no longer have to configure Start/End Shift locations just to distribute Court settings.
- External Search was also completely rewritten.
- The new versions of External Search are found in the same Mobile Data menu as before, but are suffixed with "*NEW*".
- The old versions will not be uninstalled to allow users to transition at their discretion, and also allow them to fallback to the old version if there are issues with the new.
